Do you have a question about health services in Swale or Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley? Come to the Listening Post!

24 May 2017

The NHS in Swale and Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, are inviting people to share their views about local health services and quiz health professionals at this month’s Listening Post, to be held on Thursday, 25 May from 1.00-2.00pm at the UK Paper Leisure Club, Avenue of Remembrance, in Sittingbourne.

NHS Swale and Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG), who plan, buy and deliver most local healthcare services, are also inviting local people to attend their Governing Body Meeting, which takes place ahead of the Listening Post, from 9.00am-12.00pm, also at the UK Paper Leisure Club. The agenda and supporting papers will be available the week before the Listening Post  on each CCG website http://www.swaleccg.nhs.uk/about-swale-ccg/meetings/governing-body-meeting-papers/  and http://www.dartfordgraveshamswanleyccg.nhs.uk/about-dgs/meetings/governing-body-meeting-papers/

At the last Listening Post (which covered the Swale area only) in March, members of the public discussed support for families with ADHD, Dying Matters Week and promotion of a local event, whistleblowing support for staff in GP practices, the Sustainability and Transformation Plan, and access to late night pharmacies.

Attendees at the Listening Post can simply turn up and discuss any topic they like. However, for the more formal public Governing Body meetings, we ask that questions are tabled in advance.  For questions relating to Swale, please email swale.ccg@nhs.net  or call 03000 425100 and for questions relating to Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley areas, please email dgs.ccg@nhs.net or call 03000 424903 . Questions will be answered at the start of the meeting at 9.00am.

If you would like to be aware of or take part in influencing local healthcare decisions, we encourage you to sign up to the CCG’s Health Network.  You can do so by signing up online at http://www.swaleccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/ or call 03000 425100 for the Swale area or https://www.dartfordgraveshamswanleyccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/patient-news/ or call 03000 424903 for Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley area.

People are also encouraged to join their local GP practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG). Most practices have PPGs, where people can find out what is happening and help influence local decisions.  Contact your local GP practice to find out more.
