NHS Swale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is one of eight CCGs in Kent and Medway. It commissions (plans and buys) health services for 110,000 people living in the area.
The CCG is a clinically-led membership organisation made up of all the GP practices through a GP Council of Members. In turn, the Council of Members delegates many of the day-to-day management responsibilities to the Governing Body (the Board). The Governing Body delegates certain responsibilities to formal committees and senior managers within the CCG to ensure sufficient focus is given to the various aspects of our work.
The CCG is based at Bramblefields Clinic in Kemsley, Sittingbourne and directly employs 99 staff, some of whom also work for NHS Swale and NHS Medway CCGs. Patricia Davies, the Accountable Officer, is the chief ‘officer’ of the CCG. This is a joint post with NHS Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley CCG. She is supported by an executive team made up of the Chief Finance Officer, Director of Commissioning, Chief Nurse, and the Company Secretary.
