The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) came into force on 1 January 2005, and gives you the right of access to information held by NHS Swale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 recognises that, as a member of the public, you have the right to know how public services such as the NHS make their operational decisions and how public money is used. The Act gives anyone a general right to request access to see official information held by public authorities such as NHS Swale CCG. For further information, visit the Information Commissioner’s Office website.
The Act reflects a national policy to shift from a culture of confidentiality to one of openness, where information is routinely available, subject to certain exemptions, to anyone who wishes to see it.
